The Stress Relief Tip You Didn’t Know You Needed

It’s almost summer, a glorious release from the stresses of the school year. As I’m finishing up the most stressful part of the school year I was thinking about things I have done in the past when faced with stressful times. Just in case anyone else is feeling a bit overwhelmed, here is my strange, yet effective stress relief tip.

Celine Dion Meditation

When I was in college and had a big paper or project to do, I would often get writers block because I had so much on my mind. I’m not sure why I started doing this but when I needed to clear my mind, I would lay on the floor with my feet up on a chair and put on Celine Dion’s My Heart Will Go On (yes, from Titanic!). I would then close my eyes, relax my body, and just let Celine’s lovely voice take over. It sounds completely ridiculous but it always calmed me down and helped clear my mind so I could then move on with whatever I needed to do. Try it…you might be surprised!

*If Celine Dion isn’t your thing, try a different song depending on your mood! I find that the laying on the floor part works with almost any song.

Welcome to The Redhead Review!

Yay! Welcome to my blog! Let’s start with a story, a few of years ago on my 34th birthday I posted that I was excited to start my 34th year, *fortunately* for me I had a Facebook “friend” that let me know that when I turned 34 I was actually starting my 35th year of life. WHAT! Nothing ruins a birthday like realizing you’re actually kind of a year older than the year you just turned! Now, should I have realized that’s how age worked long ago, yes, but also no one thinks about it that way, do they? I’ll save all of my other confusion about age for another post!

Anyway, this week I turned 37 years old which means I’ve started in on my 38th year of life! And while I feel like that is way too close to 40 for comfort, I also can not believe how much my life has changed throughout my 30s. In the past three years I met my husband, got married, bought a new house, switched jobs, completed my second Masters degree, and had my first baby. It’s been a whirlwind that I’m pretty sure 30 year old Jessica did not see coming! So now that I’ve done all those big, exciting things in life, I’ve decided to take a new risk and start a blog! Back in my single days, I had contemplated starting a blog to share all of the ridiculous dating stories but I never followed through. That’s actually a bit unfortunate because there were some doozies! If you’ve been single and looking in the last 10 years, you get it I’m sure!

So here I am, starting a blog. I’m not totally sure what all I will be sharing about but there will definitely be tales of motherhood, books I’ve read, Hallmark movies I’ve watched, places I’ve traveled, and undoubtedly some of those ridiculous dating stories will make an appearance as well!

Thanks for reading! 🙂 Hope you come back again!
